London defended

London battle Update

So the video for the battle for London between the Panzer Lehr and the British 6th airborne and Irish Guards armored units is slowly coming together after some technical difficulties. but needless to say the battle was fought and while the reporters are having problems returning safely from the front the battle was still a resounding successes for the British.

Fallschirmjäger are defeated by the Home Guard in Hertfordshire.

FSSF and French Foreign Legion vs Panzer Lehr and Bake

 The battlefield today, this is looking to the north. Our Battle in the town of Andover, in Hampshire.

A small farmhouse sites just to the north of the train station as well as the northern part of the small town.

To the south lies a small canal and a swamp. this is our battlefield today.

 the German Tigers and Panthers led by Bake, supported by Nebelwerfer.

 Panzer Lehr supported by Jagpanzers and lehf 10.5 guns

 for the allies we have,

 FSSF with supporting Sherman tanks, Sherman 105s and m10s.

 Foreign Legion supported by 155s and 75mm guns.




Set up.

The Germans deployed

 Turn One

 The Allies Fire,

 The Sherman 105s take out several half tracks and infantry inside.

The FSSF move on the south side of the move near the second undefended objective
while the Foreign Legion dig in around the farmhouse, the Heavy artillery fails to range n on the panthers deployed to the south of the town, the 75 score no hits on the tiger on to the far north.

German Turn

 The German Artillery brings in fire on the Foreign Legion anti tank guns and Pioneers, Killing the anti-tank guns and one Pioneer.

 Meanwhile the Tigers move across the field

  The remnants of the Panzergreniders move to intercept the FSSF in the town.

 Turn Two

The Sherman 105s bail a tank and while the 155s destroy the other Panther.

 Menwhile the FSSF assult and destroy one Jagpanzer.




On the German turn they destroy a M10

 The German continue to maneuver infant into the town from the weaken Grenadiers.

 

As the Tigers moved out of the field they kill one Foreign Legion defending the Farmhouse.

 Turn Three

 A M10 hits a Panther on the front.

 While the FSSF advance towards the objective.

The Germans Turn

 The last Jagpanther moved into position and....

destroyed another M10.

 The Panzergreniders are moved out from behind the field wall

Turn Four

Artillery fails to range in on anything, while the Sherman 105s begin to put pressure on the objectives and the rest of the Sherman move to support.

Turn Five

 The last M10 takes out the last Panther.

The French move to support the FSSF

The Germans assault the Foreign Legion at the Farm and they destroy most of a platoon except the platoon command. Tigers assault the other platoon killing another team and pushing the other platoon back to the house.

Turn Six

 The Sherman move to the flank of the tiger and bail one, while the Foreign Legion bailed the other and captured the.

the 155s and the 75mm guns fire and take out one artillery piece and two armored Half Tracks and bail the CO from the half track.

 The last  french anti-tank gun destroyed the last jagpanther.

 Menwhile the sherman 105 destroy several Nebelwerfer and the truck for them.

On the German Turn, the Panzergreniders destroyed one M10.

On turn six, the night ended, and the allies came out on top, one tiger platoon, one panther platoon and one Jagpanther platoon, while the allies only lost one Foreign legion platoon and one M-10 platoon. ending in a 3-2 victory.

Wittmann with his 101st supported by the Gepanzer Kompanie face off against the Guards Armoured Divison and FSSF Special Forces.

As the Germans Advance from Dorset into Devon they hit a hastly prepared line and attempt to storm it. Do go easy on use, it is our first time doing this as well as my first post and after action report.

Wittmann and his Tigers
The Scenario was Hasty Attack. The Germans held some Stugs, one tiger platoon, the Armoured AA and a pair of Panzergreniders in reserve while the allies held a Irish recce and Guards infantry with a Sherman platoon, Scott platoon and the Second platoon of the SSF. the Achilles were held in Immediate Ambush.

SSF dig in with the Panzergeniders in front of them. the Achilles had been placed in front of them taking out one half track, but then were able to avoid fire from the paks and run to safety,

in the center, Wittmann advanced and was able to destroy the 90mm AT gun dug in on the hill on turn two, after the Cromwell and Challenger had bogged down trying to get a enfilade shot at them.

 then the Tigers turned there guns on the Cromwell not bogged and fired.

On Turn three the Challenger and Cromwell un bogged and gained a side shot. while the Achilles move to site guns on the tiger platoon.

The Challenger claimed one while the Achilles claimed the other.
Meanwhile the SSF had entered the town on the Left and the AOP had spotted for the Sextons destroying an infantry and bailing a half track.

The SSF were able to bail a Skf 251/9 and destroy another half track.

On the Third German turn the Tiger platoon in reserve as well as a Stug platoon arrived and the tigers go rear shots on the Challenger and Cromwell, as well as frontal on the CO and 2IC bailing all of them and destroying the one in the trees, leaving the Challenger the only tank in the platoon. Wittman fired on the Achilles and Bailed them.

The Stugs got a Sexton.
In the town fire was exchanged resulting in the loss of a Engineer HMG inside a building.
The allies responded in Sending the Challenger Forward and Destroying Wittmann while a jeep .50 cal and a m10 took out both paks. the Achilles stayed Bailed and would remain that way the entire game.

However the Challenger was destroyed on Turn 4 by the other Tiger Platoon while the Sextons lost another to the Stugs.

On turn 4 the SSF took out two panzergreniders and one half track as well as two Armored AA guns.

meanwhile the CO and 2IC made a dash to the right city to capture the Objective there.

They tried to hit the Stugs but the Front armor of 7 saved them from any damage. Curse the weak 75mm gun!
The Germans moved the Tiger Platoon to directly behind the CO and 2IC but failed to score a single hit, but the Stugs were much more lucky killing the CO.

The Engineers Jeep fell to the last AA gun while the other HMG fell to the powerful funs of the Skf 251/9s

On turn 6 the 2IC moved into the town and secured the Objective while the Americans killed another Half track. 

The Germans moved the stugs into the town and destroyed the British 2IC and the tigers moved into the woods and destroyed one of the Bailed Achilles.

On the Allies turn the Cromwell Recce Platoon arived and pushed forward to destroy a Stug, but unable to shift them from the town.

On turn 7 the Axis Panzergeniders assulted a M10 and lost one infantry and failed to destroy it as it fell back. the other M10 was bailed as the Tigers shot at it but failed firepower. The Stugs scored a hit on the Cromwells and took one out.

SSF infantry fired at the Panzergeniders killing two more as a Sherman platoon arrived to assist.

On Turn 8 the axis were able to destroy the last of the Achilles and the Quad destroyed a motor jeep of the new arrived Greyhound platoon.

the Tigers along with some surviving half tracks were able to almost annihilate the new Gaurds Infantry. they failed their moral and fled.

With the Gaurds infantry gone the British were thrown into disarray and the battle collapsed. the Gaurds fled while the SSF yelled at them to come back to the fray. Thus the Germans Broke Through.


This was our first game and my first battle report. i played the British, and just made several mistakes but we had fun in this campaign to Save Britain, and while we lost, Britons shall never, never, never be enslaved!
